I had the absolute privilege of attending Jodie Mainstone’s presentation on Neuro-Affirming Practice, and I cannot overstate how impactful, thought-provoking, and beautifully delivered it was. Jodie possesses a rare and powerful combination of deep subject-matter expertise, authentic lived experience, and an exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts with both clarity and heart. From the very beginning of the session, it was evident that this wasn’t just a topic Jodie knows about - it’s one she lives and embodies. Jodie skilfully unpacked what it truly means to be neuro-affirming, moving well beyond superficial labels or token gestures. She invited us to reflect deeply on our biases, our language, our systems, and most importantly, how we show up for neurodivergent people in authentic, respectful ways. The presentation was filled with eye-opening insights, practical strategies, and emotional depth - all conveyed with grace, professionalism, and genuine care. It challenged assumptions, expanded my perspective, and left me not only better informed but personally moved. Jodie’s eloquence was matched by a strong sense of purpose: to create a more inclusive, understanding world where neurodivergent people are not only accepted, but celebrated, heard, and empowered. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to attend one of Jodie’s sessions or explore her work in neurodiversity advocacy and education, I wholeheartedly recommend that you do. Her voice is not only important - it’s essential. Thank you, Jodie, for your leadership, your vulnerability, your professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to fostering environments where neurodivergent people can thrive as their full, authentic selves. Your work is reshaping the narrative in all the right ways.

Jodie gave a very interesting and informative talk on neurodivergence and how to ensure that we provide neuroaffirming and inclusive therapeutic environments. I found the talk extremely practical and engaging and it has really helped the way that I work. Thank you Jodie!
